SLEEP has been on my radar for a while now, but your excellent review and comparison to The Paper Palace is bumping it to the top of my TBR. Also, love that Honor mentioned Elena Ferrante Days of Abandonment! Such a stunning book!
I think you'll love Sleep—it really is a gorgeous, meandering, sharp read. You'll have to read it after all the excitement of publication day is over! And I know—I LOVED Days of Abandonment; by far my favourite Ferrante!
Very diverse selection of books. Delighted to see Seamus included. Lucy do you put a limit on the amount of books your guest can bring to the island? 🤣
I don't think I'd even heard of Seamus before now—but agree it's a wonderfully diverse set of books! Technically you're only allowed to take eight books to the desert island, but who am I to stand in the way of someone reading more?! 😂
Let's hope they are not travelling to the island via Ryanair! Seamus Heaney is one of Ireland's most lauded poet. Died a few years ago. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Strictly first class to get to my desert island 😉 and gosh—I shall have to hunt out a copy of Seeing things. Are there any other collections of his that you'd recommend?❣️

Station Island and North are particular classics in his oeuvre 😊
Duly noted! Will hunt out copies in due course 😊
